Central Michigan HIE covers the central and thumb area, including Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Isabella, Midland, Saginaw, Sanilac and Tuscola counties. It is coordinated by Central Michigan University Research Corporation. They received one of five planning grants from the state in June 2007.
